What I'm always wearing...
My Greek prayer bracelet.
Am I Greek you ask? No, but I am a big believer in prayer and I know the power behind it. Nearly six years ago when I started wearing these bracelets, my life changed. While I won't go into details, I will leave you with a short and simple reason as to why you'll never see my arm without one--it's a reminder. A reminder for all that I'm blessed with, for all the blessings God is still working in my life and every time I look at it I'm reminded to breathe, and just let and let God. Not to mention these bracelets are really cute and come in lots of fun colors! In my six years of wearing them I've sported every color from pink and silver to my current rockin' red. I order them here and they arrive in about a week. I definitely recommend buying a few for yourself AND friends-- they make the best gifts (-:

My Motto: BE BRAVE
Before I moved to Chicago in May, I had some reservations. I think it's normal for a woman who moves to a city of three million... who grew up in a city of 57,000. I was finally leaving my comfort zone, the "Indiana bubble". Yes I know I just moved a state over, but leaving my family, friends and my beloved Hoosier state wasn't exactly a peach. Although, I knew in my heart that Chicago was where I had wanted to be for so long. When I told my family about my career opportunity they were thrilled, supportive and couldn't wait for me to begin my next chapter in life. While others clouded my mind with thoughts like, "O' Chicago? But it's so big, it's so unsafe, it's full of city slickers". My response, "Yup, Bring it on!"
Sure they daily news scares me on a day to day basis, ya there are HUGE creeps on the El but it's nothing a full can of pepper spray can't handle. Bottom line-- suck it up people, grow a pair-- BE BRAVE. Go where you want to want to go, do what you want to do even if 10 chirping birds are telling you something different. Along with my new motto in life, I just purchased a necklace by a Chicago jewelry designer I have become obsessed with, Jess LC. Her collections are beautiful, simple and inexpensive. Check out my latest purchase to accompany my new life's motto.

"Be Brave"
in braille
Braille is near and dear to my heart. As a proud Delta Gamma Alum our philanthropy was Service for Sight Aid to the Blind. During my time at Butler University I had the privilege of volunteering and getting to know many wonderful people at the Indiana School for the Blind. It was there where I really became to value something that many take for granted everyday, sight. When I wear this necklace it will just be a daily reminder of my new life's motto and to not take for granted life's blessings.
Happy Day

Work, work, work it out!
I never thought I would actually care about the quality of what I worked out in. Normally at the gym you could find me a cut off t-shirt and old grungey shorts. But after my move to Chicago, I fell in love with lululemon. Everything is great about the store; the energy when you walk in, the comfort of the clothes (I literally feel naked with this stuff on) and the cute carry all bags-->
coined with inspirational quotes. Needless to say, I'm already hooked. I was lucky to find some stuff on sale, which is a rarity for this brand, but did splurge on a few must-have pieces. Here's a few items that made it into my closet.

A very special day-- May 8, 2010
Everyone remembers their high school or college graduation. The graduation hymn is sung as your parade to your seat, camera's flash and your family proudly shouts your name. The ceremony begins and the anxious feeling sets as you sit in your chair and wait for the nano second to approach when they call your name. Ah, success. Well, it came and it went-- and I was so blessed to be surrounded by family and friends, plus one surprise visit by the name of, Louis Vuitton. Check out these priceless pictures-- needless to say, I was in SHOCK.

From here, it took me five minutes to even open the bag. Not to mention I screamed bloody murder in one of the nicest steak houses in Indianapolis, Harry and Izzy's
and there she is, ah.... I can die a happy woman

So many needs (ok, ok wants) and I don't know what to do with myself!! Somedays, I think I should live in a small podunk town with a the nearest fashion mall 100 miles away. Let's just say I would save myself a LOT of $$! So you might be asking yourself, "What does Abby want now?" Well, here are just a few of my needs/wants.

yes, I want them in every color and the jelly flats for SUMMER...

I'll need these for the CUBS games (-:

Perfect for work.play. or the subway (-:

I want to fill my bed with more Anthropologie pillows (o:

and last, but definitely not least--

My shoes got SOUL.
For the past three years I've been wearing, supporting and spreading the word about TOMS. Shoot, I wore them before they were cool, before you could pick up a pair at Nordstrom-- but now, they are the latest closet necessity, and I love it! My TOMS have been all over the world. From INDY to ROME,

from Boston to Amsterdam-- and they left me with zero blisters! Moral to the story-- try them out; because for every pair you buy, a pair is donated to a person in need. Also, join me on April 8th as I venture into the city of Indianapolis, barefoot. DO IT, and share your story with me afterwards!
