New Obsession: Bows
There is something about bows this season, and I am becoming a little obsessed! Don't worry, I'm not over doing it but I do want to share with you a few of my latest 'bow items' I've purchased.
Have you heard of Wild Fox Couture? I love this American Vintage clothing line and here is my latest purchase from Wild Fox! It's bowlicious (-:

This necklace I picked up in Nashville and it is adorable! You can pick it up as well at any Urban Outfitters

I love accessorizing with my hair and I picked up this little dandy at J Crew. J Crew has great hair accessories and their headbands don't hurt your head. I promise!

Pin the Tail on the City
For the first time in 22 years, I have no idea where I'm going or what I'm doing next year. I don't know what city I'll be in, if I'll have friends there or if I'll even know where the nearest Target is; you see, I'm a little lost. Do I stay in a city I've grown to love, or do I venture elsewhere into the land of the unknown? So many questions, and frankly I can't answer them on my own. Lately, I feel like I have 100 chirping birds telling me 100+ different things in my ear and all I want to do is press mute. But I have thought of a solution; I'm letting go and letting God. I hear He plays a mean game of "Pin the tail on the city," and while I plan on applying to three core cities, I know He will guide me in the right direction!
O' and can you guess which ones they are by the city skyline?

I'm such a sapster
I'm a cry baby. Yup, I'm the girl who cries every time Pretty Woman is on TV or a Folgers' commercial airs. I can't help but always put myself in another person's shoes and relate to another person's triumps and struggles. So you might be asking yourself, what made me tear up today? Well, has anyone seen the new P&G and Tide Olympic commercial? This little dandy not only made me cry the first time I viewed it, but the second and third! So check it out and let me know what you think ---> P&G Tide Olympic Commercial

I'm headed to Nashville this weekend!
I've got my boots packed and my Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley CD's in the car; Nashville here we come! I'm so excited to get out of Indy this weekend with my friends and take on another city. But I must ask, do you have any suggestions on where I should go? What are the best bars, restaurants and local shopping boutiques? O' and my #1 question, "Where do I find some new cowboy boots?"This will be my first time in Nashville since I've been over 21 and I can't wait to hear some live music at the local bars. I look forward to posting pictures from my trip and hopefully making February's Purchase of the Month! Stay tuned, Ciao xo.

Choose ME. #HAPPO
Let me introduce myself-- Hi, my name is Abigail Christine Dorsett and I am a recent graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. In December I received my B.A. in Integrated Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising; I graduated early… it was hard work! The road to picking my major wasn't an easy one, because as an uninformed 18 year-old entering into her first year of college, I thought I had it all figured out. WRONG! But by the end of my freshman year I did figure it out. I knew that as a creative, enthusiastic and 'big picture' woman, my heart and soul was leading me into a career of PR and Advertising.
So here I am, nearly four years later: ready, confident and anxiously awaiting the next step in life. I don't claim to know all the answers, but I will find them for you. I'm confident, and I think that comes from my height. In 8th grade I was already 5 feet 10 inches tall-- I was the girl everyone had to look up to. But I made the most of it; I didn't want people to look up to me cause I was tall, I wanted people to look up to me cause I had the answers. I had the desire, the dream and the confidence to make something of myself and that is what I've been doing. Everyday when I wake up I live by the motto, "Make it Count." I made each day count while receiving my education and I will make each day count in my career. So, you must be asking yourself, "Why her--why Abby Dorsett?" Well listen up...

I am a PR and Advertising professional. I am a storyteller, a riveting writer and a creative artist. I will strive to create, design and build your brand while being your biggest cheerleader, your devoted publicist and your out-of-the-box thinker. I love to learn, play and find wonder in the world of PR and Advertising everyday-- because everyday is different, I'm different. I'm not your average 22 year-old, I truly believe my knowledge is beyond my years. I WON'T SETTLE, ever. I will work hard, and I won't stop until the job is done--so take a chance on me. I'd be happy to send you my resume, cover letter and references and please e-mail me at abby.dorsett@gmail.com. I hope this post gave you a little glimpse about my attitude towards life and my desire to succeed. I look forward to the future, and I especially look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Abby Dorsett
Purchase of the Month: January (yes, I'm back tracking)
So I splurged. But I couldn't help it! One of the designers Frankey's carries is French accessory designer Jerome Dreyfuss . While I interned there last fall I couldn't help but stare at this one bag. Currently, I am working as a post graduate intern and I had a little more $$ to spend. So this is my purchase of the month from January--->
The bag name is 'Lucien.' It is the BEST bag out there because it comes in three zip off parts. If you want a sexy night out but don't want the fringe, don't worry-- it snaps right off. Or say you just want the front pouch for a night out on the town, no worries-- it zips right off! This bag can be anything you want it to be! The bag picture is suede and mine is actually leather, so it is a little different but almost the same! I'll post a picture later! I've also noticed the the Jerome bags are becoming very popular on one of my favorite fashion sites WhoWhatWear. So check them out-- I guarantee you'll be splurging next month as well (-: Ciao xo.
My passion is FASHION.
As you will soon learn, I love fashion.
Last fall, I had the privilege of interning at an exclusive designer boutique in Indianapolis called Frankey's. While I was there, my eyes were opened wide to the world of fashion. I played a behind the scenes role at Frankey's and designed all the advertisements and e-mail blasts in addition to planning promotional events and parties. I soon discovered that this is an ever-changing, fast paced industry that I would LOVE to be in. A dream job of mine would be to do fashion PR and as many of us have seen on the hit show, KELL ON EARTH it is a very tough and competitive environment be in. I ask myself every day, "Abby, should you keep dreaming or actually follow through with your dream?" You see, I graduated from Butler University where fashion classes and programs weren't offered and therefore I don't have "classroom experience." But honestly, that doesn't matter. I love a challenge and am a quick learner. I'd do whatever it takes to get into the fashion PR industry and I hope someday I am rewarded for all of my hard work. I don't quit.
Ok ok, on another note; throughout this blog I plan to share my passion with you. One part of fashion I love is obviously (shopping), so I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my purchases and/or items on my wish list. Enjoy and get inspired to follow your own dreams. Ciao xo

The Beginning: I'm in the blogosphere
Hi, it's me-- Abby (-:
For the past six years, I have been engaged in the world of social media. I joined Facebook my senior year of high school and last March I became engaged in the evolving world of Twitter; although something was missing.
I wanted to be heard. A simple Facebook 'note' or a 140 characters on Twitter wasn't doing the trick; so this is my resort----> "A COLLECTION" of life's blessings, mishaps and trials in the life of a (PR and Advertising) Professional/Fashionista in the year 2010.
Read it and weep, get inspired and make a CHANGE.
